A 3-day stakeholders’ sensitization workshop on Demographic Dividend Roadmap was held in Kaduna State.The workshop, organized by the National Population Commission (NPC) Kano State Office, in collaboration with the Lafiya Programme, aimed to sensitize stakeholders on the importance of harnessing Kano state demographic dividend for sustainable development
In his statement, Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission, Kano State, emphasized the significance of collective action in achieving the demographic dividend agenda.
“If we invest wisely in health, education, employment, and governance, we can unlock the potential of our young people and reap the benefits of a demographic dividend,” he said.
The commissioner also highlighted the importance of accurate and reliable population data for effective planning and decision-making.
“The National Population Commission remains committed to providing this data through the upcoming Population and Housing Census,” he added
The workshop brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including government agencies, civil society organizations, development partners, and representatives of persons with disabilities
