The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has received a generous donation of food items from the Chief Imam of Alfur’Qan Juma’at Mosque, Kano, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar. The donation, which includes rice and macaroni, was distributed to 32 Muslim members of NAWOJ in Kano State.
Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, National Chairperson of NAWOJ, expressed her gratitude to Dr. Umar for his kind gesture and prayed that Allah replenish his wealth abundantly.
However the National Secretary, Wasilah Ladan, who represented the National Chairperson during the distribution, commended Dr. Umar for his support to women journalists in Kano State during Ramadan.
NAWOJ called on other philanthropists and well-meaning members of society to consider journalists in their relief packages, particularly widows and single mothers who are catering to the lives of their orphans.
During the distribution Hajia Sakina Kabara of Pyramid FM Kano, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, Appreciated NAWOJ National Secretariat for supporting women journalists in the state.
Adding that this act of kindness demonstrates the importance of community support and solidarity, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
