The Kano State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, received a courtesy call from the Joint National Association for Persons with Disabilities, led by State Chairman Engr Musa M Shaga and the Emirs of representatives of other Associations of disabled people.
During the visit, Engr Shaga congratulated Honourable Kibiya on his appointment by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, to lead the Humanitarian Ministry. He praised Honourable Kibiya’s competence and ability to lead the Ministry.
Engr Shaga also appealed to Honourable Kibiya to support the Association and requested that the Executive Governor His Excellency Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf to consider moving people with disabilities to the Humanitarian Ministry, as is the case at the National level under the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities. He explained that this move would enable the Association to receive the support and services they require.
Honourable Kibiya expressed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized that the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals, including those with Disabilities. He noted that the Ministry works closely with other Ministries, such as Health, Education, Youths, Agriculture, Women Affairs, Special Duties, and other related Ministries and Agencies.
Honourable Kibiya assured the Association that People with Disabilities will have a strong share in the Ministry’s activities. He promised that the Ministry will ensure that People with Disabilities are included in all their programs and initiatives. He also commended the Executive Governor, Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his support and concern for People with Disabilities.
Honourable Kibiya advised the Association to continue to work closely with the Ministry, assuring them that the door is always open for them to visit or meet with him. He thanked them for their visit and looked forward to a fruitful collaboration.
