
Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has received a major boost from Saudi Arabia and 9ja Food Fiesta, a local food company.
The Honourable Commissioner, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, paid a courtesy visit to the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Kano, where he met with the Deputy Council General, Ustazh Bashir Khalifah Al’anazi.

During the meeting, Honourable Kibiya appealed to the Saudi Consulate Ustazh Bashir Khalifah Al’anazi. for support, citing the state’s large population of over 20 million people, including those in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
In his remark Sheikh Ustazh Bashir pledged to assist the State Government, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations.
Adding that,they will help with the distribution of Ramadan food items and other activities that will improve the lives of the vulnerable in the state .
Saudi Arabia’s contributions to humanitarian efforts globally are well-documented, with the country being one of the top donors to the United Nations.
In another development, Honourable Kibiya received a courtesy call from the CEO of 9ja Food Fiesta, Mr. Mustapha Mohd, in his office.
Mr. Mustapha proposed to sponsor 2,000 vulnerable individuals among the beneficiaries of their training and letter on he add another 1,000 people.
Honourable Kibiya appreciated the 9ja Food Fiesta CEO for adding 1,000 slots to the initial 2,000 beneficiaries, considering Kano State’s large population.
The collaboration between the Kano State Government and 9ja Food Fiesta is also a positive step towards addressing food security challenges in the state.
Aliyu Kibiya emphasized that Food security is a critical issue in Nigeria, with many households struggling to access nutritious food.
“The support from 9ja Food Fiesta will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations in Kano State.”He said.
Kibiya highlighted the collaboration between the Kano State Government, Saudi Arabia, and 9ja Food Fiesta is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable populations in the state.
The Honourable Commissioner assured that the Humanitarian Ministry will collaborate with any organization willing to support the State Government, as vulnerable populations are a primary concern of the present Administration.
“This development is a testament to the growing partnerships between governments, organizations, and private companies to support humanitarian causes.”
