
In a historic visit, Honourable Commissioner Adamu Aliyu Kibiya of the Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation inspected the Dorayi Babba Psychiatric Center and Shahuchi Old People’s Home.
This marks his first official visit as Humanitarian Commissioner, demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals in Kano State.
Accompanied by the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Alh Abdullahi Isyaku Kubarachi, and other officials, Honourable Kibiya assessed the condition, shelter, and food provided to residents.
In his remarks The commissioner Adamu Aliyu Kibiya commended the caretakers for their dedication and excellent work, ensuring the well-being of patients and residents.
“I appreciate the caretakers for their selfless service and dedication to caring for the vulnerable individuals in these centers,” said Kibiya.
The Commissioner assured residents that the Ministry, established by Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, is committed to supporting vulnerable individuals. He pledged to submit a report to the Governor, highlighting the need for renovations and reconstruction of the centers.
Additionally, Honourable Kibiya promised to forward the names of casual staff for permanent employment, enabling them to work more effectively.
Malam Al Hassan, In-charge of the Center, expressed gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for his kind gesture, promising to work tirelessly for the patients.
This visit demonstrates the present Administration’s priority on the welfare of vulnerable individuals in Kano State.
