In an effort to eradicate poverty and promote jobs/wealth creation, Rano local government council of Kano state has distributed empowerment package of N50,000 each to 100 women in the area.
Speaking at the distribution of the empowerment the chairman of the local government council Alh.Muhammasaid, Ñaziru Yau said the council is empowering people through their own business.
He noted that, the council is committed to support women and youth to be self reliance and productive for growth and development.
According to him the council is complementing the effort of the state governor Engr Abba Kabir on women empowerment and poverty eradication.
” We are optimistic that, this token amount of money is enough capital for Maikosa, Maiawara, groundnote oil seller, other food vendors , and if properly managed it will creat more wealth ” stated
In his speech at the occasion the speaker Rano legislative council Hon.Ahmad Abdullahi Jibrin charged the beneficiaries to make judicioust use of the package for encouraging the council to do more of such empowerment.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Zainab Isa Rurum and Maryam Abubakar Zinyau
expressed their appreciation to the council over the gesture and promised to utilized the empowerment package properly.
