NAWOJ Kano Celebrates Its Members Hajiya Nafisa Murtala Ahmad and Aisha J. Ahmad for Receiving Excellence Award in Health Reporting
The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, has celebrated two of its members, Hajiya Nafisa Murtala Ahmad of Express Radio and Aisha J. Ahmad of Aminci Radio, for receiving an Excellence Award in Health Reporting.
The recognition was given by the Kano State Ministry of Health in partnership with the Gammun Centre for Care and Development Nigeria, in appreciation of their contributions to advancing awareness and reporting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Kano State.
The statement was issued in a press release by the Kano State chapter of NAWOJ and jointly signed by the Secretary, Comrade Maryam Muhammad Yakasai, and the Chairperson, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara.
According to the association, the award highlights the value of responsible and people-centered journalism in promoting public health knowledge and supporting initiatives aimed at improving community wellbeing.
NAWOJ noted that the honoured journalists distinguished themselves through consistent, quality, and professional reporting that brings critical health issues to the attention of both the public and policymakers.
The statement added that the achievements of the two journalists have brought pride to the association and further show the important role women journalists play in promoting development and public interest reporting.
NAWOJ Kano congratulated the award recipients and wished them continued success and greater impact in their journalism careers and service to humanity.
