KAT Club Graduates 65 Students, Earns Commendation from Kano Education Ministry.

The Kano State Ministry of Education has commended the KAT Club career guidance programme for its contribution to shaping the future aspirations of students across the state.
The Kids and Teenagers (KAT) Club, a career development and mentorship initiative, recently graduated 65 students in Kano after successfully completing training in various professional fields of their choice.

At the graduation ceremony, the State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda, represented by the Deputy Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Hajiya Khaulat Idris Abubakar, praised the organisers for the successful implementation of the programme. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the academic and personal development of children.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Special Duties at the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Nura Ibrahim, disclosed that the board plans to introduce similar career guidance and mentorship clubs in primary and junior secondary schools across the state. He said early exposure to career counselling would help students make informed decisions and build a solid foundation toward achieving their professional ambitions.
Earlier, the founder of the KAT Club, Mr. David Olasunkanmi, explained that the programme was designed to mentor children from an early age by helping them discover and develop their talents and interests. According to him, the initiative focuses on promoting self-reliance and fostering a generation capable of contributing meaningfully to societal development.
One of the facilitators and leader of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members involved in the training, Hafsa Abdullahi, said the students showed high levels of dedication, discipline, and enthusiasm throughout the programme.
Parents of some of the participants, including Mrs. Obodo Hellen and Meki Waziri Daniel, expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it had positively influenced their children’s attitude toward learning and improved their understanding of future career paths.
The students received training in a wide range of fields, including entrepreneurship, medicine, nursing, banking, the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and other professional sectors.
