
NAWOJ Presents Secretariat Report, appreciate KNSG for Securing Two Hajj Seats for MembersThe Nigeria Association of women Journalists (NAWOJ) Kano Chapter has presented a comprehensive secretariat report, highlighting the association’s achievements under the current leadership. the report was presented by the State Secretary, Hajiya Maryam Muhammad Yakasai, at the NUJ Press Centre on Wednesday.
The report detailed various activities and programs organized by the association, including
Hosting the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting with support from the State Government
Organizing the Girls’ Child International Day and Maulud celebrations,
Town hall meeting on Gender-Based Violence,
Send-up party for a retired member,
Participation in the National election of NUJ National Executives,
Iftar program for members during Ramadan,
Attendance at various workshops and events, including the KILAF 24 Women in Media Business Summit and the launch of the SWAN Kano State chapter calendar among others
In her opening Remarks Bahijja Malam Kabara chair Lady of Nigeria Association of Women journalist Kano state chapter express her gratitude to all the members of the Association.
“I will not conclude this remark without appreciation to all members of this great Association for your support and cooperation to the leadership of the Association,” Bahijja Malam Kabara
The association also paid advocacy visits to stakeholders, including the former and current Commissioners of Information and Internal Affairs, and paid homage to the Emir of Kano.
Notable,the association under the chair Lady Bahijja Malam Kabara secured two Hajj seats for its members, a significant achievement that demonstrates its commitment to supporting its members.
The State Secretary Hajiya Maryam Muhammad Yakasai thanked members for their support and cooperation, urging them to sustain the tempo.
