Kano State’s Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, has celebrate World Leprosy and Neglected Tropical Disease Day .
The objective of the day is to urged parents to take action against tuberculosis and tropical neglected diseases in Kano state
Making it known to the Media in press conference today.
The commissioner encouraged parents to bring their children that shows symptoms of these diseases to testing centers across the state.
“This call to action is a crucial step in combating these diseases and promoting public health in Kano State.”he said
Dr.Yusif expressed the The Kano State Government commitment particularly to the health sector where they made free testing and treatment available for tuberculosis and tropical neglected diseases at designated health facilities across the state.
“We must work together to prevent the spread of tuberculosis and tropical neglected diseases,” said Dr. Yusuf.
“Early testing and treatment are key to saving lives and improving the well-being of our community.”
The commissioner of health Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusif emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, as well as addressing the social and economic factors that contribute to the spread of these diseases .
Parents and guardians are advised to look out for symptoms such as persistent cough, fever, weight loss, and skin lesions, and to seek medical attention immediately if they suspect their child may be infected.
“Kano State has made significant and remarkable contributions to the health sector, particularly in providing free services to its citizens. Some of the free services provided by the state include.
“Free Antenatal and Postnatal Care for mothers and newborns where they received free medical care, to ensure healthy pregnancies and safe deliveries.
” Government provide Free TB Testing machine available in the facility to enable early detection and treatment.”Dr. Yusif

These free services demonstrate Kano State’s commitment to improve the health and well-being of Kano people particularly the most vulnerable populations .
