The Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, received a vulnerable widow, Malama Hauwa, in his office. Her visit was a testament to the Commissioner’s dedication to providing humanitarian aid to those in need.
Malama Hauwa, accompanied by her seven children, expressed her deepest gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for hiring a house for her family. Following the passing of her husband, they were left without a home and had been spending their nights in a local school. The Commissioner’s timely intervention has brought immense relief to the family.
The Honourable Commissioner was assigned by the Executive Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, to provide humanitarian aid to Malama Hauwa and her family. True to his commitment, Honourable Kibiya received Malama Hauwa with empathy and concern, ensuring that her family receives the support they deserve.
During their meeting, Honourable Kibiya urged Malama Hauwa to refrain from taking her children to other Ministries or MDAs for begging. Instead, he encouraged her to strive for self-reliance and to raise her children according to the teachings of Islam. He emphasized the importance of providing them with a good education and moral upbringing.
The Honourable Commissioner also assured Malama Hauwa that his office will continue to provide assistance to vulnerable individuals and families. He promised to support her in her efforts to become self-sufficient and to provide a better life for her children.
The Honourable Commissioner’s dedication to humanitarian aid is a shining example of the Ministry’s commitment to alleviating poverty and supporting the vulnerable. His selfless actions have brought hope and relief to Malama Hauwa and her family, demonstrating the power of compassion and kindness in transforming lives.
