Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, (NAWOJ) Kano State Chapter has organized a Town Hall meeting on Gender Based Violence, (GBV) in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Special Assignment.
The Special Adviser on Special Assignment, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar Amneef who said the State Government will support any effort against GBV also appreciated the effort of NAWOJ for their collaboration to work together to achieve desired goals.
Responding, the State Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Bahijja Malam Kabara said the aim of the event was to join the rest of the world in order to mark the 16 Days activism of Gender Based Violence.
Shep added that the association stands firm to fight for the rights of women and children against any vices.
Comrade Bahijja also called on parents to inculcate moral values in their children and monitor their daily activities for better results
On their own part during the event, Just came ustice Salma Ahmed Danbatta, Hajiya Salma from Freedom Radio and the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Community Policy, Hajiya Mariya Sharif called on parents and the general public to find ways on how to make life better for the victims of GBV, stressing that proper channels should be followed in order to punish whoever abuses the rights of children and other individuals.
