KHZ Foundation Brings Eid Smiles to Widows, PWDs and Orphans with Cash Support in Kano

Kungiyar Hada Zumunci (KHZ) Foundation organized the distribution of cash support to vulnerable groups including widows, people living with disabilities (PWDs), and orphans.
Speaking during the event, the Executive Director of Kungiyar Hada Zumunci (KHZ) Foundation said the initiative was aimed at supporting those who are often neglected in society, particularly widows, orphans and persons living with disabilities.
He explained that the organization believes everyone deserves to celebrate Eid with a sense of belonging and happiness.
“The reason we carry out this distribution is to support the most vulnerable members of our community, especially widows, persons living with disabilities and orphans, so that they can also have something to celebrate Sallah,” he said.
The Executive Director added that the charity initiative has become a yearly tradition for the foundation and has continued to grow with the support of its members.
“This is the eighth annual charity outreach organized by our foundation. We hope that wealthy individuals in our society will emulate this gesture and extend help to those in need,” he added.
Also speaking, a member of the foundation, Hajiya Hauwa Bello Fulani, described the initiative as a collective effort by members of the group who are committed to supporting vulnerable people in the society.
She emphasized the importance of looking beyond orphanage homes to support orphans living within neighbourhoods who may also be in need.
“Many people prefer to visit orphanage homes, but there are many orphans living around us in our communities who also need help. We should remember them, especially during festive periods,” she said.
The event, held on Sunday, brought together dozens of beneficiaries who gathered to receive financial assistance aimed at helping them prepare meals and meet basic needs during the Sallah celebration.
One of the beneficiaries, a widow who identified herself as Fatima Musa, said the support would go a long way in helping her family celebrate the festival with dignity.
“Life has not been easy for me since I lost my husband. Sometimes we struggle even to buy food. This small support will help me cook something for my children during Sallah. I am very grateful,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Hauwa , a person living with disability, also appreciated the foundation, explaining that such gestures remind vulnerable people that they are not forgotten in society.
“Many of us with disabilities face serious hardship, especially during festive periods. This assistance will help us celebrate like others. May God bless the foundation,” he said.
The event ended with prayers for the donors and organizers, while beneficiaries left with smiles and renewed hope that the spirit of compassion and community support would continue to grow in Kano State.
