Kano Ministry Of Health in Partnership with Gammun Center Honours Professionals, Media Contributors for Advancing NCD Services

The Kano State Ministry of Health with support from Gammun Centre for Care and Development Nigeria,through its Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) unit, has organized an award ceremony to recognize outstanding professionals and contributors supporting the development of Macadamia services across the state,
The event brought together health officials, professional bodies, development partners, and media representatives to celebrate individuals and organizations that have contributed to strengthening NCD prevention, treatment, and public awareness in Kano State.
Awards of excellence were presented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, alongside the Permanent Secretary and the Director of Public Health (DPH), in collaboration with relevant professional bodies.

According to the them , the recognition is aimed at encouraging stronger commitment, innovation, and multi-sector collaboration in addressing non-communicable diseases and improving service delivery.
Media professionals were also honoured for their role in promoting public health awareness. They include Hajiya Aisha J. Ahmad, CEO of Pulse Time Nigeria, an online newspaper platform, Hajiya Nafisa Murtala Ahmad of Express Radio, and Naziru Idris of ARTV.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of Gammun Centre for Care and Development Nigeria, Tulare Tine, commended the Ministry of Health for its leadership and support toward NCD programmes in the state.
He noted that the Commissioner for Health has done a lot to improve the NCD budget, adding that the allocation is increasing. He encouraged the ministry to sustain the progress and further increase budget allocation and releases to strengthen services and outreach.
In his closing remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, expressed gratitude to all award recipients and partners for their contributions to health development in the state.
He also appreciated the NCD Coordinator, Dr. Abubakar Hamza Ahmad, and the Director of Public Health, Dr. Ibrahim Gano, for their dedication, while urging those not recognized this time to work harder for future opportunities.
