KSPHCMB Marks DG’s 100 Days in Office, Showcases Reforms and Milestones

The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board has celebrated the first 100 days in office of its Director-General, Professor Salisu Ahmad Ibrahim, highlighting key reforms and achievements recorded under his leadership.

In his remarks, Prof. Ibrahim expressed appreciation to his management and staff, noting that every achievement recorded was the result of teamwork and coordinated effort. “Accountability, accurate information, and discipline are the backbone of performance,” he said.

He explained that the Board introduced strict attendance measures to ensure staff commitment, stressing that the work of PHC workers directly affects the lives of millions of residents.

Prof. Ibrahim further acknowledged the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, describing their vision for a people-centered health system as a driving force behind recent reforms.

At an event held at the Board’s headquarters, stakeholders in the health sector, including development partners, converged to review the DG’s performance, which many described as transformative.

Among the major milestones highlighted were the introduction of data-driven decision-making systems and a sustainability framework aimed at strengthening Primary Health Care (PHC) delivery across the state.

The Board also successfully brought together the 44 LGA PHC chairmen under one platform to enhance coordination and accountability.

Another significant achievement was the development of a 10-year strategic plan designed to reposition PHC services for long-term impact.

Development partners present at the event included LAFIYA FCDO, CHAI, GAVI, RESOLVE TO SAVE LIVES, WHO, UNICEF, KanSLAM, GAMMUN center for Care development and several others, reaffirming their commitment to supporting PHC operations in the state.
