The Kano State Government under social protection Agency has moved to strengthen its partnership with the Aliko Dangote Foundation to expand social protection programmes for millions of its vulnerable residents.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA), Rabiu Khalil Kura, and made available to Pulse Time Nigeria.
The disclosure followed a courtesy visit by the Director General of KASPA, Dr. Fatima Abubakar Abdullahi (Amneef), who led a high-level delegation of the agency’s directors to the Foundation’s office.
During the visit, Dr. Fatima reaffirmed KASPA’s mandate as the state’s coordinating body for all social protection activities. She emphasized that the agency’s core mission is to reduce poverty, improve social inclusion, and strengthen livelihoods across all 44 Local Government Areas.
The DG conveyed the appreciation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the Foundation’s past interventions and appealed for enhanced collaboration.
“Given the size and population of Kano, a strengthened partnership between KASPA and the Dangote Foundation will produce far-reaching benefits for vulnerable households,” she stated.
In his response, the representative of the Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Sunusi Abdullahi Abdulkadir, commended the establishment of KASPA and its clear mandate.
He assured the delegation of the Foundation’s readiness to collaborate, noting that its core activities, including microgrant programmes and humanitarian interventions, are aligned with KASPA’s objectives.
