CEOPAV Urges President to Tackle Insecurity, Secure Schools After Child Abductions

The Center for Empowerment of Older Persons and the Vulnerable (CEOPAV), has issued a strong appeal to the President of Nigeria, demanding immediate and concrete actions to end the spate of mass abductions of schoolchildren and to address the root causes of insecurity in the country.

In a statement signed by its Founder, Amb. Rabi Yusuf Gezawa (MON), and made available to Pulse Time Nigeria, the organization expressed its “deepest concern and outrage” over the recent incidents, describing them as a “grave violation of children’s rights” that has left families shattered and the nation in shock.

The letter emphasized that the safety of children, whom it described as “the future of our nation,” is a collective responsibility.

The group lamented the “apparent lack of effective action” by authorities to prevent these attacks and bring perpetrators to justice.

It subsequently presented a four-point demand to the government, which includes ensuring the safe release of all abducted children, developing a comprehensive security strategy, securing all educational institutions, and holding the responsible parties accountable.

The statement further called on all Nigerians to join in condemning the abductions and demanding action from the nation’s leaders.
