Northern Therapists’ Conference in Kano Tackles Divorce, Promotes Marital Stability for the Sake of Allah

The Northern Therapists forum successfully held its 5th Annual Marriage Conference over the weekend ,aimed at strengthening the fabric of the family,the event, which attracted thousands, was designed to address the growing concern of rampant divorce and broken homes by sensitizing couples, singles, and widows on the principles of Islamic marriage.
The conference, with the core objective of eradicating the “menace” of marital breakdown, brought together a diverse group of participants, including ulama, business entrepreneurs, and high-ranking officials, all united by a common goal: to reaffirm the sanctity of marriage.

In an exclusive statement, the founder of Northern Therapists, Maryam Baba Hassan, elaborated on the driving force behind the initiative.
“I chose to do this because of the many devastating challenges faced by marriages nowadays, primarily due to a lack of good intentions and a lack of understanding, which is very key,” she stated.
She emphasized that the main objective is to “sensitize married women, single ladies, and widows about what marriage for the sake of Allah truly entails.”
Hassan also expressed profound satisfaction with the event’s growth and impact over the years, highlighting a remarkable surge in participation. , underscoring the community’s increasing engagement with the critical topic.
“We have achieved so many successes. Before, we were only able to invite 200 people, but now we held the conference with more than 2,000 couples, including husbands, wives, and others,” she announced
Participants at the conference were visibly moved and expressed their happiness at gaining a clearer understanding of their roles and responsibilities within a marriage.
Halimatu Musa participant, echoing the sentiments of many, shared how the conference helped her understand what marriage is all about, all for the sake of Allah.
This renewed perspective, focused on spiritual commitment rather than personal whim, was a recurring theme throughout the event.
