Pathfinder Launches Women&Co to Empower Nigerian Women as Leaders in Health, Climate Solutions
Pathfinder International Nigeria has launched ‘Women&Co Nigeria’, a pioneering platform designed to fund and amplify women-led innovations.
The initiative, officially unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday, aims to place women at the centre of designing and implementing sustainable solutions for their communities by connecting them with essential capital, partnerships, and influential platforms.
Dr. Amina Aminu Dorayi, Regional Portfolio Director at Pathfinder International, stated that the programme is a direct response to the untapped potential of Nigerian women as problem-solvers.
“Across Nigeria, women are already solving some of the toughest challenges in their homes, communities, and workplaces,” Dr. Dorayi said.
“Women&Co is about amplifying that ingenuity, putting women in the driver’s seat to design the innovations and systems that will shape our nation’s future.”

The launch integrates Nigeria into a global platform first introduced at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.
Women&Co Nigeria will unite female leaders from diverse fields including healthcare, climate science, entrepreneurship, governance, and finance to co-design solutions that address local problems with potential for regional and global impact.
The initiative has garnered support from high levels of government. Dr. Adanna Steinacker, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Women’s Health, endorsed the mission, stating it aligns with the national agenda.

The inaugural event in Abuja served as a co-design convening, bringing together women from various sectors and backgrounds.
The session focused on mapping the current landscape of women’s leadership in Nigeria, identifying critical barriers to funding and opportunities, and charting a concrete action plan to accelerate women-led innovation.
With a 60-year operational history in Nigeria, Pathfinder International’s Women&Co initiative marks a new chapter in its work, shifting the paradigm from women as beneficiaries to women as essential co-creators and architects of the nation’s development.
