Kano Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs Meets with the state Assembly Committee
The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Honourable Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, has received a maiden visit from the Kano State House of Assembly Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, led by its Chairman, Honourable Sule Lawan Shuwaki.
Making it known to the media on Thursday by Director, Public Enlightenment Kano State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation,Halima Sani Gadanya.
During the visit, Honourable Kibiya emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Ministry and the Committee to support vulnerable and less privileged individuals in the State, particularly during the rainy season.
He expressed gratitude to the Committee for their visit and promised to work closely with them to address the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
Honourable Shuwaki stated that the visit aimed to explore ways to work together with the Ministry to provide aid to those affected by disasters and emergencies.
He commended the establishment of the Ministry by the Executive Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and emphasized the need for necessary facilities and equipment to respond to emergencies.
Honourable Kibiya highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to secure humanitarian interventions from Non-Governmental Organizations, Private entities, and federal Agencies to support vulnerable individuals.
He acknowledged the present Administration’s commitment to being a Government of the people and for the people, with a focus on supporting the vulnerable and less privileged.
