Kano State Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Disabled marked the first-ever celebration of the International Day of Families in Kano State.
As proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, May 15th of every year is dedicated to this occasion.
To commemorate this day, the Ministry supported 500 families with foodstuffs and condiments.
During a press conference, the Commissioner, Hon. Amina Abdullahi Sani, HOD highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting dignity, reducing poverty, and enhancing the overall well-being of families.
She expressed her deepest gratitude to the State Government, led by His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his kindness towards supporting Kano families through various initiatives.
The Commissioner urged stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders, to collaborate in promoting family welfare.
She emphasized the importance of collective efforts in creating a society that values and supports families, providing them with necessary resources and opportunities to prosper.
The Ministry reaffirms its commitment to addressing the challenges faced by families and promoting their well-being.
The celebration was attended by various women’s groups who graced the occasion.
