Kano Ministry of Humanitarians affairs Flags Off Distribution of Food Items to Vulnerable Groups in the State.
The Kano State Ministry of Humanitarians affairs and Poverty alleviation has flagged off the distribution of food items to rehabilitation centers, social homes, repatriated camps, street children, and vulnerable persons in the state. The ceremony marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to provide relief to those in need.
In his welcoming speech, the Honorable Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation,Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, commended Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to supporting vulnerable groups in the state. He added that the distribution of these items would bring relief to those who need it most.
“this initiative is a testimony to our administration’s unwavering dedication to Humanitarian Service and social welfare,we recognize that,the strength of our society lies in our ability to uplift the vulnerable among us, today’s exercise is not just about providing Food Items but also extending our hands in solidarity, compassion and care to those in need”said Kibiya
“the ministry of Humanitarians affairs and poverty alleviation has work tirelessly, alongside out partners and stakeholders,to ensure that this distribution is carried out efficiently and transparently”he added.
Kibiya said ,the food items donated by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction through the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) Kano Field Office, include:
– 2047 cartons of Indomie
– 70 bags of Semovita
– 70 bags of 50 kg rice
– 129 bags of beans
– 65 bags of millet
– 50 bags of guinea corn
– 120 cartons of seasoning
– 200 bags of iodized salt
– 100 pieces of 25kg palm oil
– 120 pieces of 25kg groundnut oil
– 97 cartons of dates
These items will be distributed to 12 rehabilitation centers across the state, 6 social homes (formally known as Gidan Marayu), street Camping children, and vulnerable persons in the state.
The commissioner expressed gratitude to the State Government and Federal Government for their support and urged the beneficiaries to make the most of this gesture.
“I commend His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his commitment to supporting vulnerable groups in our state,” said Adamu Aliyu Kibiya.
Notably, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has recently extended humanitarian gestures to inmates in three correctional centers: Janguza, Kurmawa, and Goron-Dutse Custodial Centre.
The governor’s support package includes food items, bedding, and essentials, such as 5 bulls, 300 bags of rice, 4000 mattresses, and 4300 blankets. The governor also announced plans to support inmates with minor debt-related cases and has enrolled over 1,000 inmates in the Kano State Contributory Health Scheme.
Pulse Time Nigeria reports that,the flag-off ceremony was held at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and was attended by the SEMA Executive Secretary, representatives from rehabilitation centers, correctional homes, and Orphanage Home Gidan Marayu.
