KNSG Pledges Support to YOSPIS to Combat Social Vices Among Youth.
In a significant move towards addressing rising social vices among youth in Kano State, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) has pledged the full support of the Kano State Government to the Youth Society for the Prevention of Injustice and Social Vices (YOSPIS).
This development followed an impactful advocacy visit by the Executive Director of YOSPIS, Zainab Nasir Ahmad, alongside members of the Nigerian Youth Parliament, to the SSG’s office. During the engagement, the delegation highlighted the growing concerns facing youth and women in Kano and across Nigeria, ranging from unemployment and drug abuse to gender-based violence and lack of access to quality education and empowerment opportunities.
The SSG warmly received the delegation and commended their commitment to youth development and social justice. He recognized the pressing challenges and assured the team of the government’s readiness to collaborate with YOSPIS and other stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.
“We are truly inspired by the work YOSPIS is doing and I assure you that the Kano State Government is ready to provide all the necessary support to help achieve our shared goal of a safer and more prosperous future for our youth,” said the SSG during the meeting.
YOSPIS expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the government’s commitment, stating that this partnership marks a promising step towards institutional collaboration aimed at improving the lives of young people in Kano.
“This is not just a pledge; it is a beacon of hope for thousands of young people in Kano. We are confident that with the government’s support, we can expand our outreach and impact more lives,” said”
